Travel for COVID Vaccination

Beginning on Monday 1st February, anyone attending appointments at local Covid-19 vaccination centres in the coming months will be able to travel free on public buses and inter-island ferries. The following link on the SIC website provides more information about this service

What the Bressay Community is doing

The Mail Shop can order in specific items, and have deliveries of local bakery, dairy products and fish coming in weekly. Alison is happy to arrange for grocery orders to be collected from outside the shop. Please call Alison on 820 200 to arrange an order.

The Speldiburn Cafe will remain closed until the end of January 2021. Speldiburn Good as New Shop will be open by appointment only. Please see below for information on how to contact BDL in the current situation.

The Speldiburn Cafe will continue to provide deliveries on Friday to our usual delivery customers. We want to be responsive to the needs of Bressay folk and extend this service to anyone on Bressay, so please pass this information on to anyone you know in Bressay who might need a cooked lunch and get in touch if more regular help is needed. Lunches must be pre-ordered at the latest by midday on Thursday. We will send out invoices via email or post with BDL bank details for payment or for payment by cheque.

Local crafts and cards can still be purchased and can be delivered for free to anyone in Bressay. Just follow this link : Speldiburn Crafts.

A collection of Speldiburn library books can be seen on our website and these can be delivered free of charge anywhere in Bressay : Speldiburn Library.

Pocket sized bottles of hand sanitiser are available from Speldiburn along with free refills of either gel or liquid sanitiser for these, or for your own pocket-sized bottles.

Desk space, printing and free wifi can be arranged at Speldiburn for Bressay folk who are working or schooling from home.

BDL have a list of people happy to act as volunteers to support anyone in need as a result of the virus, delivery of shopping or collecting items from Lerwick, etc. If you, or someone you know needs assistance, please contact us.
